Initiatives have been taken for the installation of 140 solar street lights on the rural roads of Mohitnagar in Jalpaiguri District making it convenient for villagers to commute at night. More than 100 solar street lights were installed in Lumshnong village roads in Meghalaya. Around 100 solar street lights were installed in different villages of sonapur area of Assam including 12 social institutions in the Sonapur area near Guwahati Assam benefitting around 40000 population.
This was initiated to protect and conserve wildlife resources in Meghalaya in collaboration with the State Forest Department.
Bio Diversity Conservation Project was taken up to cover 3 villages in Meghalaya for conservation of endangered floral and faunal species that benefitted 600 households.
